So when did Andy kill Merrick again. This was such a good movie! I really hope to see a sequel or TV show, something more to further the story. Song : M.I.A. Borders. It seems like an incredible story, but lets be honest folks, we shouldn't have sent them there in the first place. Charlize is so amazing on this movie... i love her style and acting. Now after watching my 2nd viewing of this movie The Old Guard again tonight I'd say that it resonated with me even more because I knew what I was walking into with regards the story & the over all performances of the actor's along with how the director went about shooting this movie. I could go on about the premise of the plot but i wont & instead commend how well this diverse cast of actors performed & how that choice of actor's gave this movie a more broader appeal, but I won't. Instead I'll say that if you have Netflix then do watch it & if not find a way to watch it as this movie punches above it's weight even within this type of genre. The premise of this movie is not a new one but this take on this type of genre is definitely a more human & humane approach & it somehow crams in a hell of a lot of information without you as the viewer feeling overwhelmed by it all. If anything by the time the End Credits are over with I was left feeling i wanted to see & know more about all of these character's & that's what your looking for with any movie. I hope this movie does get a follow up as the cast of the protagonist do a great job of making you root for them. Yet it's a movie that doesn't shy away from what these protagonist character's feel about what they have done to survive. I'll say no more & leave it up to you to decide! In London, when being freed, as in a lot of other cringy bad movies, there was a "smalltalk" scene lasting about 5 minutes while slowly freeing/unrestraining allies, in a critical hectic "let's hurry up to survive" moment.
